Eating well is a lifelong practice that supports everything we do. We share the experience of eating with the people we love and the choices we make in this domain have a profound impact on the world at many levels. Whole cultures define themselves by their cuisine. But despite eating being so central to our lives, many of us pay it little to no conscious attention. And when it comes to nutrition, there is no one-size-fits-all solution; the foods that are ‘optimal’ for us change from person to person, from season to season and from year to year.

Our nutritional coaching program offers an ongoing, individualised, sustainable, practice-based learning process intended to help you develop healthy eating habits one day at a time. Although what you eat is certainly important, we focus as much attention on addressing how you eat, with the intention of improving the quality of your experience with food. 

If you're tired of restrictive fad diets and would like to develop eating habits that serve you in the long term, our nutritional coaching program is for you. And whether your goal is to lose fat, gain muscle, build strength, improve your understanding of nutrition, have more energy, or just feel better, you will benefit from our approach. 

the teacher: Tomas Langley

Our nutritional coaching is delivered by Tomas Langley, who is also one of the three movement teachers at Praksis. If you join the program, Tom will be the person preparing your monthly habit plans and tracking your progress with weekly email check-ins and monthly video calls.

Tom started cooking from an early age and his first job was in a kitchen. He spent 10 years in agricultural research and development, working with multiple industries on sustainable production. In 2011, he discovered he couldn’t even lift himself up to sit on his kitchen bench. This pivotal moment spurred him to confront the problem of his weight. Tom studied nutrition avidly in his spare time, radically changed his diet and lost 25kg within six months. His obsessive focus on weight loss led, however, to other problems and it took years of practice to improve his relationship with eating to the point where he was able to enjoy food again while remaining healthy.

where to start

We recommend starting the process with a 30-minute video consultation so you and Tom can get to know each other. You can expect to leave the conversation with a new perspective on eating well and one or two healthy eating habits to start making use of immediately.
